We are pleased to announce this year’s Joan Waugh Scholarship recipient for 2022, Felicity Smith, Alumni, Class of 2007.
Felicity will be using the scholarship funds towards becoming a Humanitarian Volunteer Engineer to be registered with RedR Australia who organise professional volunteers with specific skill sets to be standby for United National, front line relief agencies and local governments.
The cost for her to attend up skill training courses conducted by RedR in Melbourne during the course of 2023 year will assist her in achieving this goal.
The Joan Waugh Scholarship is awarded by the Tara Old Girls' association annually, in memory of Mary Elizabeth (Joan) Waugh, Principal of Tara 1897-1946. The scholarship aims to support, inspire, and encourage Old Girls to further education by assisting them to undertake further studies, research or development in a particular area of interest, skill or expertise, either in Australia or overseas.
