Service for Others: Hearts and Minds in Action
During the current period of COVID-19 restrictions, and while Tara girls were participating in online learning and remote access to School and the community was adjusting to self isolation, Years 11-12 have been aware of others in the local community who have been impacted.
Self isolation restrictions have resulted in the elderly members of our community finding themselves in a situation of lock-down. The girls realised the elderly could no longer have visitors and were aware of the increased anxiety about the health of both residents and staff in nursing homes. Our local nursing homes, Bolton Clarke Cabrini Westmead, Wesley Rayward, Bupa – North Rocks, Estia Health Epping, Courtlands Village North Parramatta, Anglicare Mowll Village Castle Hill, Arcare Oatlands Aged Care and Lutanda Retirement Village Pennant Hills have been especially in our thoughts.
As happened in 2020, Senior girls have again written cards to residents. These cards have been individually written by Year 11 and 12 students during their time of online learning. The girls have shared something of their experiences of lockdown and learning online. They have shared their thoughts and words of encouragement to support nursing home residents.
