Congratulations to Year 12 students Jordan, Sarah, Chyna, Macayla, and Sophie who have received their Gold Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award while still at school.
To obtain such a high honour, participants must complete a minimum of 12 months of physical recreation, minimum of 12 months for skills activity, minimum 12 months worth of service, two adventurous journeys for 4 days, and an additional residential project for five days.
It has taken several years of dedication, focus and commitment to be able to finish the Gold DofE during their last year at school.
They have also completed their Bronze DofE Award in Year 9 and Silver DofE Award in Year 10 including many more months of activities and rigorous adventurous journeys required for both these Awards.
These students have succeeded in meeting the challenges throughout their DofE journey and we celebrate their outstanding accomplishment.
The DofE Award is well known at Tara, and is recognised globally as a significant award scheme, engaging young people in community service, skill development, physical activity and expedition or exploration.
