On 21 February, we celebrated the spectacular achievements of the HSC Class of 2022!
Distinguished achievers returned to Tara to be acknowledged for their HSC successes. Six Tara students earned "All Rounder" status with scores of more than 90 in 10 or more units they studied:
Mia Azzi
Nara Baek
Cherie Ghadiali
Kening (Karen) Hu
Evelyn Jang
Angel Poi
Mia and Evelyn shared their tips for study with Senior School students along with their experiences of the HSC process. After the formality of the assembly, returning students and staff had the opportunity to reconnect. It was great to see so many students return to Tara, sharing news of their next adventures beyond the gates.
In addition to all of our students on the Distinguished Achievers List, we would particularly like to congratulate Hannah Campbell for placing first in NSW for the Hospitality Examination and Cherie Ghadiali for placing third in Studies of Religion I.
Out of a total of 82 students, 54 of them earned a spot on the HSC Distinguished Achievers List. There were 156 Band 6 results in the same cohort. 26% of the students had an ATAR of 95 or higher, 50% had an ATAR of 90 or higher, and 73% had an ATAR of 80 or higher. The top ATAR was achieved by Mia Azzi with 99.45. In 2022, Tara Anglican School for Girls was ranked 31st in the Sydney Morning Herald's HSC School Rankings.
Several students were nominated for inclusion in HSC Showcases for their performances and major works. We are excited to announce that Rebekah Lee was selected for ARTEXPRESS and her major work entitled 'Books, buildings & a biography of things' was exhibited at the Art Gallery of New South Wales from 2 February. Other student nominations received included:
Elaine Cheng: ArtExpress Nomination
Phoebe Mulia: Encore Nomination
Guinevere Fisher: OnSTAGE Nomination Individual Project: Critical Analysis, Director’s Folio
The entire cohort earned early entry offers to a university course, which showed the hard work and dedication of each student. We also recognise Jovana and Imogen, the two accelerated Year 11 2022 students, who achieved Band 6 (result of 90+) in Studies of Religion I.
