For the past quarter-century, the Sheen Family Prize Performer of the Year has been a testament to the musical excellence at Tara Anglican School for Girls. This prestigious annual event, generously supported by Dr Adrian Sheen (OAM) and his family, highlights the vital role of music education within our school community.
This year, Annabelle (Year 12) captivated the audience and judges with her exceptional rendition of "Your Daddy’s Son," earning her the esteemed 2024 Sheen Family Prize Performer of the Year. Her performance was a brilliant showcase of her talent and dedication. Liz (Year 12) secured second place with her vocal musicality and stage presence, while Maia (Year 10) impressed with a moving and technically skilled cello performance, taking third place. Mat (Year 10) received a Highly Commended award, highlighting her emerging vocal talent.
Finalists Isabella, Phoebe, Ellie, Jessica, Tess, Mook, Kate, Ella, and Janice also delivered outstanding performances, contributing to an evening filled with musical brilliance. Renowned conductor Mr. George Ellis adjudicated the event, lending his expertise and professional insight to the competition. Additionally, special guest performer Bernice (Year 11), the 2023 Sheen Family Prize Winner, inspired the audience with a stunning performance.
